My kids’ books

Ages 12-15

On The Edge Of The Dark Sea of Darkness: The Wingfeather Saga Book 1

Mystery and action, family ties and suspense. This is a beautifully written epic your whole family will love.

The Vanderbeekers: Make a Wish

Book 5 of the series, this book follows the beloved Vanderbeeker family and their friends. This book shows how NOT getting your wish can become the biggest blessing of all.

The False Prince

Set in a medieval dystopia, four orphans are chosen to compete against one another for the chance to rule over the kingdom of Catharya. Lies upon lies unfold in this thrilling action, adventure series.

The Ballot of Songbirds and Snakes

Prequel to The Hunger Games series, this book tells the origin story of Coriolanus Snow before he becomes then tyrannical President of Panem. This book is marketed for adults, please factor that in when deciding if it is appropriate for your teen.

Sunrise on the Reaping

A spin off from the Hunger Games series, this book focuses on a young Haymitch Abernathy at age 16 as he competes in the 50th Hunger Games. This book is marketed for adults, please factor that in when deciding if it is appropriate for your teen.

The Maze Cutter

Sequel to the Maze Runner series, this book is set 73 years after the original books about a new generation of survivors forced to leave their island home. Proceed with caution if you are considering this book for your teen. It is definitely on an adult reading level, my 15 year old ranked this book at a higher intensity than the Maze Runner series.

My Books

Practicing The Way

Practicing The Way is a spiritual formation book about becoming an apprentice of Jesus. We are reading through this book with a group of friends and it has led to many vibrant discussions.

I’m Not Done Growing Yet

A collection of short essays or “musings” about growth and development that urges the reader to enrich their life and enjoyment of it by stripping away the trivial. I read this book about once a week as part of my morning routine. Sometimes it is deeply thought provoking and other times I leave the reading feeling uplifted and encouraged. Each essay can be read as a stand alone topic.

The Bible Recap

A daily bible reading plan that takes you through the Bible in chronological order within a year (if you stay on track, and if you are like me…it might take two years but that’s ok!). Each day of reading also comes paired with a short commentary from the founder, Tara Leigh Cobble in written and video format based on your own preference. You can also access this plan via the Bible app. I have the small personal size of the book of commentary and love the travel size!

What Brings Us Joy

This Christian historical fiction book is extra dear to my heart, this book is authored by none other than my mom! In this debut novel you will meet Delia Truitt as her world is shattered when circumstances force her family to leave their comfortable life in Georgia and relocate to a ramshackle Texas farm. This book is filled with faith, mystery and romance (with Texas cowboys *swoon*) appropriate for the whole family!

We Were Never Here

I recently listened to this audio book and it was a great listen while I was doing all the never-ending household things! This thriller follows two best friends as they travel the world….and find themselves in a murder loop. Yikes!
